Dynaudio Unveils The New Focus XD

All Focus XD speakers are digital from the source to the driver – and all can handle full-fat 24-bit/192kHz hi-res files through their entire signal path for zero-compromise sound.

Apart from boasting five new finishes, the 2017 range has had a ground-up revamp of its signal-processing flow for substantial improvements in sound quality. Simpler internal processing means an even more transparent, even more authentic sound. Speaker-position correction is improved for greater accuracy too, and Dynaudio’s engineers have also found a way to extract more volume from the drivers without distortion or compression. Also new is the ‘brightness’ control from Dynaudio’s LYD pro-studio range. It adjusts the whole frequency character of the speakers, rather than just the treble – meaning you have even more control over their performance in your own surroundings.

See the range at stand 2a in the foyer. And if you already own a pair of Focus XDs, from March you’ll be able to upgrade their firmware via a free update available at www.dynaudio.com/support.
