Audio T, Organisers of the Sound & Vision - The Bristol Show Receive Clarity Fellowship Award for Services to the Hi-Fi Industry
Clarity announced the 2018 Honorary Fellowship and Best of Show Awards During the Sound & Vision - The Bristol Show held on 23rd-25th February,
The Clarity Alliance presented the sixth annual “Best of Show” awards, at which it also announced the fifth recipient of its Honorary Fellowship award. As one of its founding objectives, The Clarity Alliance pledged to recognise those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the UK hi-fi industry. The fifth such award, following the previous winners: John Dawson, Paul Messenger, Eric Kingdon and Paul Stephenson, was awarded to one of the most respected and influential retail groups, Audio T.
Presenting the award to Audio T director, co-owner and show organiser, Jerry Lewin, Clarity’s chairman, Tom Barron, said, “As with so many of our hi-fi retailers, Audio T was founded many years ago and has survived the turmoil of the high street, in the face of stiff competition from discounters, mail order companies, the internet and the many new ways that people now listen to music other than through hi-fi systems. The company still has a significant high street presence and has also been responsible for the organising of the Bristol hi-fi show for 31 years, which has helped put hi-fi in front of the UK consumer. It is therefore a very worthy recipient of this year’s Honorary Fellowship award for outstanding contribution to the UK hi-fi industry.”
Clarity also awarded prizes in the “Best of Show” awards to five companies whose efforts in putting on the best displays and demonstrations were considered to be exceptional by the panel of anonymous judges who visited every room at the show.
Awards were presented to:
"Best Sounding Hi-Fi Room' - Astin Trew
"Best Home Cinema Room" - Karma AV
"Best Presented Room" - Quad
"Best Innovation" - Roon Nucleus
"Overall Best of Show" - Dynaudio
Clarity would like to thank Audio T, the show organisers for supporting the “Best of Show” awards, Naim Audio for the use of its room for the presentations, and the UK hi-fi industry for putting on such a good show and making the effort to present hi-fi to consumers with such enthusiasm.
